An appointment for a general neurology consultation can be arranged at Dr Kinirons private rooms in The Cork Clinic. New patients are seen within 4 weeks. Rapid access is available for urgent appointments where patients are seen within 72 hours.
The first appointment usually takes 40 minutes. Dr Kinirons will ask detailed questions about your symptoms, your medical history and any relevant family history. He will conduct an examination of your nervous system to ascertain the cause of the neurological symtoms. This could include checking your muscle strength, sensation, co-ordination, balance, movement and your vision, eye movements, speech and memory as appropriate.
If required, admission can be booked in the Bon Secours Hospital for further tests and investigations. Referrals can be made to the neurology specialised multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticans, and neurology nurse specialist.
